While urban areas like Helsinki may never truly experience darkness due to the pervasive glow of city lights, two students, Mathias Schach and Monika Hauck, are striving to change that. Their exhibition at "Designs for a Cooler Planet 2023" focuses on the overlooked issue of urban light pollution. They explore its impact on health, wellbeing, and the environment, highlighting the loss of dark night skies that many once enjoyed in their childhoods. Through art, they aim to foster change and advocate for balanced public lighting.
