Toxicology alumnus Achilleas finds his place in R&D

Achilleas Fardellas, a Toxicology alumnus from Karolinska Institutet (KI), pursued his Master's degree at KI after studying Pharmacy at the University of Patras. At KI, he appreciated the emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, which made him a more well-rounded scientist. He conducted his thesis research at a KI lab and had memorable experiences during an educational trip to a European research center. After graduation, he joined AstraZeneca's R&D graduate program, where he had flexible work hours and conducted both lab experiments and computer-based research. Achilleas values the high-quality research training and diverse international environment at KI. His future plans include pursuing a PhD and returning to the industry to work on drug projects. He advises students to gain practical experience through internships and extracurricular activities alongside their studies.
