The University of Oulu Receives €225,000 Donation for Entrepreneurship Initiatives

Säästöpankki Optia commemorates its 140-year legacy with a generous €225,000 donation to the University of Oulu. The donation is earmarked for fostering research and education in entrepreneurship and micro-entrepreneurship, aligning with Säästöpankki Optia's longstanding commitment to endorsing local well-being and vitality.

Focused Approach to Business Education:

In partnership with the University of Oulu, a specific theme has been identified for the application of the funds. The donation will significantly support entrepreneurship and micro-entrepreneurship studies and research at the Oulu University School of Business and the Kerttu Saalasti Institute. One of the notable initiatives includes the recruitment of Finland’s first micro-entrepreneurship professor by the end of the year. The funds will also facilitate the expansion of research groups, advancement of doctoral research, and development of innovative educational solutions to encourage continuous learning among micro-enterprises.
