Cyber Test Lab's Exciting Expansion - New Chapter Begins in Kupittaa

Turku University of Applied Sciences' Cyber Test Lab is gearing up for an exciting expansion, set to inaugurate a fresh facility in ICT City on the Kupittaa campus this October. This decision to broaden the lab's operational horizon arose from the growing needs of the University's business associates.

With an objective to cater more extensively to the Turku region's corporate requirements, this new addition aims to position the lab in closer physical proximity to already established entities, notably the 5G test laboratory. Jarkko Paavola, the Principal Lecturer and the head of the Wireless communications and cybersecurity research group, envisions this expansion as a means to seamlessly integrate the Cyber Test Lab with ongoing activities on the campus.

While the lab has traditionally operated exclusively from the IoT campus in Salo, it's important to note that the services offered at Salo remain unaffected by this new venture. The Salo operations will simply transition to a different location within the IoT campus, ensuring that businesses continue to enjoy uninterrupted cyber testing services. Cyber Test Lab, renowned for its specialized focus on digital device and service cybersecurity, employs both automated test tools and expert-driven manual tests.

This lab is predominantly utilized by Turku University's Wireless Communications and Cybersecurity research group. However, it also functions as a learning space. The proximity of the new Kupittaa facility is expected to enhance ICT students' experiences, enabling them to better integrate it with their other study modules.
