Bridging Continents: Tampere University Brings Finnish Education Expertise to Chile

Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) is pioneering a Finnish pedagogical approach in Chile with the launch of the AntofaEDUCA program. This two-year initiative, starting in the summer of 2023, extends across the Antofagasta region's three provinces and aims to revolutionize the educational landscape of twenty public institutions. By integrating Finnish educational values and practices, TAMK seeks to modernize management and teaching methodologies, tapping into the high motivation and inspiration found in local Chilean educators. Notably, the project is supported by both public and private funding, including regional government and a mining company. It is executed in collaboration with a Chilean consortium, bringing together multiple stakeholders such as Universidad Catolica del Norte and FabLab Atacama, to foster a transformative educational network. The project's international scope not only enhances TAMK's standing as an education exporter but also enriches the expertise of its own faculty, positioning the university at the forefront of global educational development.
