AntofaEDUCA: Empowering educational leaders and teachers in Chile through collaboration with TAMK experts

Photo: Virpi HeinonenThe Antofagasta Region in Chile has launched the AntofaEDUCA project in collaboration with Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) from Finland. This initiative aims to:
- Enhance Education: The project focuses on improving the skills of 30 educational leaders and 200 teachers from various public educational institutions in the Antofagasta Region.
- Inclusivity and Diversity: Participants come from nine different communes within the region, ensuring a rich mix of perspectives and experiences.
- Online and On-Site Training: The project began with an online module led by Juha Lahtinen from TAMK. In October, a team of TAMK experts will visit Antofagasta to work directly with local leaders and institutions.
- Local Collaboration: A consortium of local Chilean entities, including Fundación Entrepreneur, Fab Lab Atacama, and Alianza Antofagasta, will assist in the project's delivery. The initiative is funded by the Regional Government of Antofagasta and receives additional support from SQM company.
- Research Component: A long-term study in partnership with a local university will assess the project's regional impact and the perceived changes in education.
- Outcome: The AntofaEDUCA project, blending international best practices with local insights, aims to bring about significant advancements in the educational practices of the Antofagasta Region, promising a brighter future for its education sector.
