Daniel Cohen, an alumnus of the School of Business, Mikkeli Campus, advises current students to be confident and patient in finding their career paths. He believes that any work experience can contribute to one's development and progress in their chosen field. Cohen initially pursued various opportunities, including working at a gaming start-up, interning at the Embassy of Finland in Washington DC, gaining business development experience in Berlin, and serving as an internal management consultant for Visma.
While working at Visma, Cohen began freelancing on weekends, assisting Finnish companies with market entry and expansion strategies in the United States. Eventually, he found his way into his current position, leveraging his previous internships and freelance work experience. Cohen's role involves connecting Finnish companies with relevant contacts in the U.S., organizing events and meetings, researching industry developments, and facilitating interactions between government officials and businesses. His work focuses on sustainability in specific industries.
Cohen's advice to students is to explore different opportunities and see what resonates with them, as diverse experiences can lead to valuable insights and help shape their career paths.
